PIA Cup returns to Dgte

The Pinay In Action Football Cup 2020 led by Sen. Pia Cayetano came to Dumaguete City again with hundreds of female football players from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Sixteen women’s teams from across the country competed in the 5th Pinay in Action Cup at the Mariano Perdices Coliseum in a three-day competition that ended Sunday.

Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo lauded the 16 women’s teams that competed for supremacy of the 5th edition of the annual football tournament for women, one of the biggest meets in the country today.

Cayetano, who made it her advocacy to empower girls through sports, officially opened the tournament with Remollo.

Assistant City Administrator Dr. Dinno Depositario said Dumaguete City, which was proclaimed as the Sport Tourism Organizer of the year in the country for the second time, would be hosting more sports events in the coming months aside from PIA Cup, such as the CVIRAA and ASEAN Schools Games in November.

The following are the teams that saw action during the 5th edition of PIA Cup: University of the Philippines women’s football Team X and Y; University of Santo Tomas Teams A and B; Bayawan City Football Club; Futboleras Football Club, Silliman University Women’s Football Club; Kachella Football Club; Tayud United Football Club of Cebu City; Sibulan Football Club; UP Mindanao Football Team of Davao; Red Corals United Football Club Hermusoras of Zamboanga City; Dapitan Football Club; Dipolog Bad Bonitas; FC95 Iligan City and Stonefield Football Club Damas of Ozamis City.

 

 

Cebuano News: NOSDEP mopasidungog sa kababayen-an pinaagi sa sports

Isip pagsaulog sa Women’s Month karong bulan sa Marso, ang Negros Oriental Sports and Development Program (NOSDEP) mopahigayon og nagkadaiyang “sports events” lakip na niini ang 2nd all-women dragon boat race kon “ Paddle for Womanity.

Si NOSDEP Provincial Sports Coordinator Paultom Paras namahayag atol sa gihimong joint meeting sa Provincial Commission on Women ug GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) nga ang Paddle race ipahigayon sa Balanan Lake  sa Siaton karong Marso 23 hangtud 24.

Dugang ni Paras nga ang pagpahigayon sa mga kalihokan’g sama sa Paddle race himoon sa mga lugar nga“scenic places” sa probinsya aron ipalambo ang mga “tourist attractions” sa Negros Oriental.

Naila ang Paddle project ug mipatugbaw sa probinsya sa Negros Oriental sa milabayng tuig tungod kay una kining mipahigayon sa tibook nasud ug  all-women dragonboat race sa nailangTambobo Bay sa Siaton.

Tungod niini gipasigarbo ang pag salmot sa grupo nga breast cancer survivors, ang all-women Philippine Navy Team nga nakakuha sa “plum prize.” sa milabay nga tuig.

Uban nga kalihokan alang sa tibook bulan sa Marso nga kasaulogan naglakip sa Concert for the Women of Buglas sa Macias Sports Center karong Marso 2, himoon usab ang 3-on-3 Women’s Basketball and Women’s Open Chess sa lungsod  sa Pamplona.

Pagka Marso 10 adunay Women’s Open Table Tennis sa Valencia ug Women’s Futsal sa lungsod sa Bacong.

Sa Marso 16 ipahigayon ang Women’s Aquathlon sa San Jose ug pagka Marso 17 adunay “Women Run the World” (21 km.) Marathon nga sugdan sa Dumaguete City.
