An Information Kiosk was installed inside the Dumaguete Seaport Terminal by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) – Negros Oriental on August 24 to raise public awareness on the different benefits of Social Security System (SSS) membership.

The Information Kiosk is located at the entrance lobby of the terminal.

It contains learning materials on different SSS benefits such as sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death, and funeral, loan programs of the agency and other privileges such as the PESO (Personal Equity and Savings Option) Fund.

SSS provides partial replacement of income lost due to said life events or contingencies.

Passengers inside the Dumaguete Seaport Terminal are encouraged to get their free copies of the learning materials while waiting for their boarding time.

PIA is assisting SSS in promoting their benefits to the public.

PIA-Negros Oriental Infocen Manager Jennifer Tilos hopes that through the Information kiosk, the public will be encouraged to become members of SSS so they can enjoy their social security benefits.

Aside from learning materials on SSS benefits, the information kiosk will soon contain other reading materials related to different programs of government.

This is the third Information Kiosk that PIA installed in Negros Oriental.

Last year, PIA has set up kiosks at Robinsons Place Dumaguete and Sibulan Seaport Terminal with the aim of promoting the different government thrusts to the public.

Tilos assured that PIA will continue to roll out Information Kiosks in strategic areas as it performs its mandate to communicate to every Filipino the SSS benefits and major thrusts of the government.
