The Association of Negros Oriental Public Information Officers (ANOPIO), together with the PIA, had its year-end assessment conference and fellowship activity in the municipality of Zamboanguit on Dec. 7, 2017. Some highlights of the event include a courtesy call to Mayor Glenson Alanano, coastal clean-up at Punta Beach, and briefing on the local government’s Coastal Resource Management (CRM) Program delivered by CRM Officer-Designate Antonio Yocor. The group capped the conference with a simple gift giving ceremony.
Some 150 representatives from transport, academe, local government, business and civil society sectors in Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental participate in the PIA-DOE Multi-Sectoral Forum on Cleaner Alternative Fuels and Energy Technologies held on Sept. 13 at Bethel Guest House, Dumaguete City. DOE officials: Supervising Senior Research Specialist Frederico Domingo, Senior Science Research Specialist for E-trike Christian Luke Sevilla and Senior Science Research Specialist Loreto Moncada discussed various programs that promote alternative fuels and energy use which include the E-Trike Project and Auto-LPG program. Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo also gave his welcome message to DOE officials and participants of the event. (PIA7-NegOr)
