DUMAGUETE CIT(PIA) – St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD) is now offering a new master’s program for individuals who are interested to pursue post-graduate studies in accountancy.
SPUD Director of External Affairs Rafael Duhaylungsod announced that the university will open its Master of Science in Accountancy Major in Management Accounting (MSA-MA) this school year to be offered in a trimester scheme.
Duhaylungsod said the objective of the program is “to provide relevant, timely and transformative accounting education, specifically management accounting, to student professionals that is responsive to the needs of the local, national and global communities in a rapidly changing world.”
The program also hopes to meet the needs of the accounting profession for individuals with a broader and extensive training in research and to provide a venue for accountants seeking advancement of specialization in their professional fields.
The program is offered in collaboration with University of San Carlos (USC) – School of Business and Economics.
A total of 42 units wherein classes for the 36 units will be held at SPUD while the remaining six units will be held will be held in USC in Cebu City.
The remaining six units is composed of comprehensive exam, thesis writing and accounting research.
Interested applicants for the program must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Commerce Major in Accountancy or BSBA Major in Accountancy or Finance.
Documentary requirements for admission include Certificate of Transfer Credentials or Certificate of Honorable Dismissal (Original Copy), Transcript of Records specifying Graduation or Special Order (Informative Copy), Certificate of Employment (At least 2 years experience for CPA’s and 3 years for Non-CPA’s), Recommendation from a Professor or Employer, Satisfactory Admission Test Scores and Completed Application Form.
Foreign students should secure an Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR), Certificate of Equivalency, Student Visa, Authenticated TOR and Authenticated Police Clearance from the Student’s Country.
All applicants can now submit their scanned TOR at firstname.lastname@example.org for evaluation. Testing fee is set at P300.
The admission and entrance test including interview and submission of other documents will be scheduled prior to the opening of classes.
