NEGROS ORIENTAL (PIA) — The Officer’s Ladies Club of Police Regional Office 18 of Negros Island Region (NIR) donated several boxes of school supplies to about 50 children attending ‘Flores de Mayo’ at Cathedral Church in Dumaguete City.
PRO18 Regional Director PCSupt. Conrad Serrano Capa’s wife Judith Rey Capa led the distribution of the school supplies after their sponsored Holy Mass Monday at the cathedral.
Negros Oriental Provincial Police (NOPPO) Information Officer SPO1 Edilberto Barabas Euraoba III said the activity is in support of the Officer’s Ladies Club to their husbands who are members of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Euraoba said the core group composed of the wives of Police Commissioned Officers of NIR in joint efforts attended the mass and shared their blessings.
Children aged 5 to 12 years were taught some prayers and some songs uniquely recited during the ‘Flores de Mayo’ with catechism while renewing fellowship from among the children in the community.
During the mass, Euraoba said the Capa couple offered the bread and wine together with Col. Harris Fama, NOPPO acting provincial director, who offered the wine.
The two officers carried the Ave Maria along with other personnel and offered flowers to the image of the Blessed Mother Mary.
The police officer said Capa and Fama showed the commitment and adherence of the PNP personnel to the core values stated as Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Maka-bayan at Maka-bansa. (rmn/jct/PIA7-Negros Oriental/This article was first published at PIA website on May 27, 2016)
