DSWD holds NMDC meeting in Dumaguete City

DUMAGUETE CITY (PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recently held its National Management Development Conference (NMDC) for the second semester of 2015 in Dumaguete City.

Officials from DSWD Central Office in Metro Manila headed by Sec. Dinky Soliman participated in the conference held from January 18 t0 22, 2016.

Other officials from other DSWD regional offices and its attached agencies also attended the event.

According to DSWD Information Officer Kerwin Macopia, NMDC aims to present and discuss the year-end accomplishments of field offices, discuss or resolve emergent social welfare and development issues or concerns and talk over new policies or guidelines of the department.

Meanwhile, attendees of the conference also visited a river control sub-project in Barangay Bio-os, Amlan town.

The project, estimated to be worth P1.5 million, was funded through DSWD”s Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) program.

During the visit, Sec. Soliman mingled with residents of the said barangay and some partner-beneficiaries of DSWD programs.

Soliman disclosed that she is happy to see river sub-control project.
