VALENCIA, Negros Oriental (PIA) — A new manufacturing plant for roofing materials, DN-PhilSouth Steel, is initially investing P30 million to set up base in Palinpinon, Valencia.
PhilSouth Properties and Development Corporation President and CEO Engr. Louie Tijing led the groundbreaking ceremony recently for the manufacturing and distribution facility in Negros Oriental.
While PhilSouth has been in the business of massive construction of socialized and low-cost housing, Tijing also aspired to go into manufacturing of materials for his projects.
As a local real estate developer, PhilSouth entered into a formal joint partnership with DN Steel Group of Companies.
According to PhilSouth finance and administrative head Sabrina Tijing, DN-PhilSouth Steel manufacturing plant is expected to employ some 30 local workers and will be operational before this year ends.
DN-PhilSouth Steel will supply construction roofing and ceiling materials, walling, floor steel decking, among others, to cater to the construction needs in Negros Island.
DN Steel president and CEO John Ng said some materials may differ in its prices with transport cut of 10 percent lower than those shipped from outside the province.
