DUMAGUETE CITY (PIA) — Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo received recently 35 different breeds of livestock for dispersal from the Bureau of Animal Industry, Department of Agriculture.
The BAI representatives turned-over 10 cows, 10 carabaos and 15 goats for dispersal to another group of farmer-beneficiaries in the province.
The farm animals will be released as soon as the provincial agriculture has identified the famers.
Governor Degamo said this will certainly help the provincial government in its desire to provide livelihood opportunities especially to the farmers in the province.
Earlier, the BAI handed over the first batch of 39 Anglonovian goats to Gov. Degamo to be distributed to 15 farmer beneficiaries.
One of the priorities of the provincial government as contained in its program thrust dubbed as the “Sa Probinsiya—MagDEGAMOI Ta!,” is to create job and livelihood opportunities.
“This is the reason why every opportunity that comes its way is always considered by the provincial government as an opportunity to attain its goal to uplift the quality of life of the people in the province,” the governor said. (mbcn/JCT/PIA7-Negros Oriental) (April 5, 2014)
