DUMAGUETE CITY, Jan 15 (PIA) –More than 4,000 business establishments in Dumaguete City are expected to avail of the opening of Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) this January at the City Hall.
The BOSS provides a convenient and complete service for entrepreneurs who will be renewing their business permits.
Dumaguete City Administrator William Ablong said that because of the experiences they had in handling BOSS, it made efficient growths that lessen hassle for the entrepreneurs processing business permits done all in one place at City Hall.
Ablong added business owner-operators will then have an easy time processing their business permit applications or renewals because relevant offices are situated in one area.
A unified application form is also presented so entrepreneurs will not have to get different forms for different requirements.
The city government sets a new requirement this year, for business owners to install a close circuit television (CCTV) in their respective establishments.
Ablong said under the City Ordinance, the establishments that handle money or cash transactions with more than P300,000 yearly income are required to install a CCTV.
This is to ensure the safety and protection of the business owners, cleints and their establishments.
The BOSS was started in 2001 and has been a yearly event for the local government.
“Processing business permits before could last for several days to one week, but with the establishment of BOSS, permits can be processed within half a day,” said Ablong.
The one-stop-shop processing business permits will end on January 31, thus, business owners are encouraged to renew or file their permits this January to avoid penalty. (mbcn/JCT/PIA7-NegOr with reports from Kristine Cassandra Azcona, SU intern)
