NEGROS ORIENTAL (PIA) – Chief executives, program managers and other officials of Galing Pook Foundation, Local Government Academy of the Philippines and Landbank will be in Negros Oriental for a two-day learning visit to Galing Pook Award winning agricultural projects implemented in the province.
The said learning visit will be on Dec. 5-6. Gov. Roel R. Degamo is set to welcome the delegates coming from the National Capital Region, according to Provincial Agriculturist Office Information Officer Oliver Lemence.
The two-day learning visit aims to impart notable principles and effective strategies to different community of learners to their various and respective local government units or areas that are within their field of operations and advocacies.
The two-day learning visit is a welcome development to the governor since it will give highlight to the province as a learning center on agricultural matters especially on organic farming in Central Visayas.
Provincial Agriculturist Gregorio Paltingca disclosed that the delegates will be briefed on Galing Pook award winning projects in Negros Oriental such as the Barangay Agricultural Development Centers (BADCs), Gulay at Palaisdaan Alay sa Kabataan (GPAK), and the “Tabo sa PAO.”
“We will also include in the presentation the organic agriculture initiatives in the province. This is a possible entry to the Galing Pook competition under the Degamo Administration,” Paltingca said.
Aside from these, the delegates will also visit Alangilan Elementary School in Sta. Catalina town which is a site of these agricultural projects and the proposed BADC Organic Village in Caticugan, Siaton.
This is the seventh learning visit of Galing Pook delegates in Negros Oriental. (mbcn/RAL/PIA7-NEGOR)
